Aircraft Noise Reporting
The City of Fort Lauderdale owns and operates the Executive Airport and ensures that the infrastructure is well maintained and safe for aircraft. FXE continues to lead efforts to address noise issues, which has resulted in significantly mitigating aircraft noise by working with pilots, residents, tenants, and federal agencies to develop successful noise abatement measures and implement a monitoring system.
The City encourages the reporting of excessively loud aircraft noise and provides different ways to submit an aircraft noise report. You may submit an Aircraft Noise Reporting Form (see below) or call our 24-hour Aircraft Noise Reporting Line to leave a voice message, which are reviewed during regular business hours.
The City investigates all noise concerns received and provides a monthly report to the Aviation Advisory Board. It’s important to the City to receive reports in a timely manner for staff to effectively follow up with aircraft operators to help reduce aircraft noise.
The Federal Aviation Administration has jurisdiction over pilots, aircraft, and airspace. Safety concerns about an aircraft should be directed to the FAA via 202-267-8507 if aircraft are operated unsafely or violated federal regulations.
