The Observation Area has become a favorite lunchtime and early evening spot for people both on and off the Airport to observe the vast variety of interesting aircraft that use Executive Airport. The facility totals approximately 24,000 square feet and includes a lushly landscaped and sodded perimeter with a 3,700 square foot concrete raised viewing area. Three 10-foot wide steps with four 10-foot by 10-foot planters lead up to the viewing platform where the public can get a close-up view of Airport activity. There is an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramp for access to the observation deck. The viewing area offers three picnic tables and two benches constructed out of recycled plastics.
The Observation Area is located on Perimeter Road along the approach end of Runway 09 in the southwest corner of the Airport. It can be accessed from Prospect Road just east of NW 31st Avenue. There are five parking spaces and one handicapped parking space available.
